The Pro Chain Whip II takes inspiration from our beloved Vise Whip, applying many of the same functional principles to a more traditional chain whip design. The Pro Chain Whip design focuses on functionality, practicality, and safety. The innovative chain retention hook offers multiple benefits.
First, it keeps the chain secured to the tool during storage.
Secondly, it improves user safety by locking the tool onto the cassette, ensuring full chain wrap and eliminating slippage. An added bonus of this feature is that the tool stays in place on its own. No more fumbling with your cassette lockring tool with one hand while trying to keep your chain whip in place. Being attached to the cassette, the Pro Chain Whip can also be used to slide the cassette off the hub. A nice option when dealing with grimy gears.
The tool features a 3/8" square drive allowing use with a torque wrench, an ergonomic TPR rubber grip for improved control, and increased handle thickness for improved strength and stiffness. Keeping trav- eling mechanics and portability in mind, the Pro Chain Whip geometry maximises effective leverage while keeping the tool length to a compact 290 mm and 325 g weight.
The integrated fixed gear lockring wrench, optimised for 41-42 mm OD lockrings, adds versatility and is one less tool to carry.
The Pro Chain Whip is compatible with all multi-gear cassettes including 13-speed* and the chain retention hook fits cogs up to 18 teeth.
- Precision laser cut design with ergonomic cushioned TPR grip and 3/8" drive for use with torque wrenches.
- Superior material and optimized heat treatment outlast the competition.
- Fits 16-notch X 44mm diameter external bearing bottom bracket cups and disc brake rotor lock- rings.
About Pedro’s
In 1989, the Pedro’s brand was formed around a revolutionary new chain lube called "Syn Lube”. Mountain bikers in the Pacific Northwest couldn’t find a lube that would last an entire race in the muddy conditions and Syn Lube quickly became the lube of choice due to its unique combination of synthetic oil, staying power, and detergent ingredients. Once mountain bikers tried Syn Lube and experienced its performance, and word spread, demand skyrocketed and the Pedro’s brand was officially off to the races!
With the mountain bike boom of the 90′s, the New England based Pedro’s brand grew quickly over the next six years introducing Syn Grease, Syn Lube Road, Bio Degreaser, Bike Lust polish, Extra Dry lube, Oranj Peelz degreaser, and a small line of accessories made from recycled plastics including the Milk levers, Milk cage, and grips. If that wasn’t enough, the brand also launched its famous grassroots support program, racing service program, and mountain bike festival! The brand’s roots in cycling had been firmly planted and a cult following ensued. People loved Pedro’s for the customer focus, grassroots support and easy-going nature. Another aspect embraced by fans was Pedro’s eco friendly products…though if you asked us at the time, we would have told you that wasn’t necessarily the goal, but they were glad people liked it!
By 2000, Pedro’s added a complete line of professional grade tools uniquely positioning itself as a complete bicycle care brand. The additional products further supported the grassroots program and Pedro’s Racing Service and Pedro’s supported as many as 375 grassroots riders and 60 events each year.
